REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Startup development in the energy and environmental sectors is gaining attention amid rising demand for technologies to support energy transition, environmental management, and food sector efficiency.

Several startups in this field showcased their business models and technologies at the “MAJU:ON Final Demo Day” in Jakarta on 21 May 2026. The forum provided a platform for participants to present to investors, academics, government officials, and industry players.

The incubation programme, run by SK Innovation E&S and UD Impact, focuses on nurturing young entrepreneurs in energy and environmental sectors. At the event, startups presented technologies related to environmental management, energy efficiency, and agriculture.

Notable startups include GISACT, which develops geographic data analysis platforms for disaster response and agricultural decision-making; AIGRA, which creates AI-based systems to reduce agricultural spoilage; and Lifeguards, which develops technology to extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables.

The programme also involved investors, academics, ministries, and industry players discussing energy transition and the use of AI in environmentally-focused business development.

Hariyanto, Head of the Planning Bureau at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), stated that fostering young entrepreneurs in the energy sector is crucial for innovation amid changing energy and environmental needs.

“We greatly appreciate SK Innovation E&S’s significant contribution in shaping future leaders for Indonesia’s energy sector. We hope more opportunities will emerge for young entrepreneurs driving innovation in the energy industry,” Hariyanto said in a press release on Monday (25 May 2026).

Over the 10-month programme, organisers noted around 130 teams and over 460 young entrepreneurs participated in training for energy and environmental sectors.

Participants received business training, startup management guidance, and opportunities to meet investors and industry players.

GISACT CEO Anjar Dimara Sakti said the incubation programme helped his team turn business ideas into market-ready products.

“This incubation programme enables us to transform ideas into real businesses. I hope this experience becomes a turning point that takes our business to the next level,” Anjar said.

SK Innovation E&S stated it will continue similar programmes in the future as interest in young startups in the energy and environmental sectors grows.
