Increased Traffic on BSD and Makassar Toll Roads Boost Operator Profits
PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk (NI), through its associate entity PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN) Group, has recorded positive business performance for its toll road operations in the first half of 2026. Operational performance and profitability across several toll road sections have shown growth.
Based on actual achievement data up to June 20lag 2026, the total traffic volume for the MUN Group increased by 5.9% compared to the same period the previous year. This growth was supported by an increase in the Average Daily Traffic (ADT) on the BSD Toll Road by 5.6% year-on-year, and the Makassar Toll Road by 6.2% year-on-year. This positive performance is also reflected in the MUN associate portfolio.
MUN Group recorded revenue of Rp424.1 billion, a 7.3% increase compared to the same period last year. To illustrate MUN’s contribution to the Company’s consolidated performance, the relevant proxy is the net income of MUN Group, as this figure serves as the primary basis for profit absorption through the equity in net earnings item in the Company’s consolidated financial statements.
In the first half of 2026, MUN Group’s net income grew by 12% year-on-year, supported by improved operational performance and a decrease in interest expenses. Consequently, the growth in MUN’s net profit is a vital indicator for the Company, as this contribution is reflected in the increased absorption of equity in net earnings in the consolidated reports.
During the first half of 2026, the contribution from associate entities became a key pillar of NI’s profitability, with the share in net profit of associates recorded at Rp55.1 billion, representing a 12% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
“Amid the dynamics of mobility costs, we see that the toll road business performance continues to show positive development. The increase in operational profit and MUN Group’s Net Income reflects our efforts to maintain operational quality while optimising asset performance in every region,” stated Indah D.P. Pertiwi, Head of Corporate Communication & CSR at PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk, in a written statement on Saturday (1/8/2026).
“Moving forward, we will continue to maintain service quality and operational efficiency to provide sustainable value to road users and all stakeholders,” she added.
Meanwhile, Nusantara Infrastructure continues to maintain discipline in financial management and capital structure. Compared to the 2025 position, NI’s equity increased by 0.2%, while liabilities decreased by 8.5%.
The Company also recorded lower net cash spending, while remaining mindful of funding requirements for business operational activities. In April 2026, the Company declared a dividend distribution of Rp45.4 billion, which was fully paid in June 2026.
Beyond the toll road business, Nusantara Infrastructure Group continues to develop its business portfolio in clean water management and renewable energy. In the water business, SCTK water sales volume increased by 3.9% year-on-year, supported by the addition of new customers and the expansion of sales areas into new industrial estates. Meanwhile, renewable energy sales volume corrected by 16.4% year-on-year, primarily influenced by limited feedstock availability in RPSL, which is a common challenge in similar industries.
“The Company will continue to optimise the performance of its entire business portfolio, increase operational efficiency and service quality, and implement prudent risk management to support sustainable growth and create long-term value for shareholders and all stakeholders,” Indah concluded.
