Incident Involving Danrem's Aide-de-camp Detained by Marshal at Mandiri Jogja Marathon 2026 Resolved Amicably
An incident involving the aide-de-camp of Danrem 072/Pamungkas Yogyakarta and a marshal at the Mandiri Jogja Marathon (MJM) 2026 on Sunday (21/6/2026) in the Prambanan Temple area drew public attention after a video went viral on social media. The event occurred when the aide-de-camp of Danrem 072/Pamungkas was not allowed to enter the race route because he was not wearing a BIB (Body Identification Number) as required for participants. In the circulating video, the marshal asked the individual to leave the route as he was not registered as a participant. However, moments later, a participant wearing a BIB appeared and requested that the runner without a number be allowed back into the sterile race area. The request was denied by the official, who deemed it a violation of the rules applicable to all participants. The participant, believed to be a high-ranking TNI officer, Brigadier General Yuniar Dwi Hantono, was heard repeatedly stating that the runner without a BIB was his bodyguard. ‘This is my bodyguard. This is my bodyguard,’ the participant said to the marshal, as seen by Republika in the video on the Instagram account @undercover.id on Monday (22/6/2026). Regarding this incident, Republika sought confirmation from the Head of Public Relations of Korem 072/Pamungkas, Infantry Major Suwito. He conveyed that the incident had ended peacefully and there were no further issues between the two parties. ‘There was just a misunderstanding on the ground, and it was resolved amicably last night, with mutual forgiveness,’ Suwito said on Monday. He also sent a video from the Public Relations office of Kodam IV/Diponegoro. According to the video’s narration, at the time of the incident, the marshal on duty did not recognise Danrem 072/Pamungkas Brigadier General TNI Yuniar Dwi Hantono or his aide-de-camp because both were wearing official running jerseys like other participants.
