Incensed voters hold 'shave-in'

JEMBER, East Java: Voters in the town of Jember found an
interesting way to express their opposition to the voting
results: they shaved their heads clean.

The action on Tuesday was conducted by supporters of the
losing candidate Samsul Siswoyo and his running mate Baharudin
Noer.

Samsul's campaign manager, Ignatius Sumarwiyadi, said the
shave-in protest was because of the Jember regental election,
where violations were ignored by the Jember Election Committee
and Jember Election Supervisory Committee.

All people could do was to shave their heads, he added. --
