Incense Factory Fire in Tangerang Destroys Three Adjacent Homes
An incense factory on Jalan Bayur, Priuk, Tangerang City, caught fire on Monday, with the blaze spreading to three adjacent houses. The incident occurred at 4.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, and firefighters were still battling the flames into the evening. Three residents’ homes and three motorcycles were destroyed as the fire grew. Kamaludin Azizi, head of the Priuk unit of the Tangerang City Regional Disaster Management Agency, stated that the fire originated at the rear of the incense factory and quickly spread to surrounding materials. There were no fatalities, although three employees fainted and have since recovered. Dozens of Tangerang City firefighting personnel were deployed, along with 14 fire engines from Priuk, Ciledug, Batuceper, and Pinang. The towering plume of smoke raised concerns about potential disruption to flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
