Inaugurates New Kompolnas Office, Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Urges Public Not to Hesitate in Lodging Complaints
Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security (Menko Polkam), Djamari Chaniago, inaugurated the new office of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) alongside Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Djamari urged citizens not to hesitate if they wish to lodge complaints with Kompolnas.
“The aim, first of all, is so that members of the public who have interests or dealings with Kompolnas can come here without any hesitation,” Djamari said after the thanksgiving ceremony at the new Kompolnas office on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Djamari stated that the Kompolnas office was previously located within the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) complex, specifically at the Police Science College (PTIK). He noted that the new location is more open and situated outside the Mabes Polri area.
“This eliminates reluctance to come to the PTIK area. Here, there is a flow of people from our community,” he explained.
The new Kompolnas office is located at Graha Sentana, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta (Jaksel). Djamari said that members of the public wishing to provide input to Kompolnas can visit the site.
“Anyone who needs to or wishes to provide input to Kompolnas in order to support its work for the improvement of all—improving the police as well as Kompolnas itself—will be more easily achieved by our community,” he stated.
Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also expressed hope that the operations of the new Kompolnas office will benefit the public. He assessed that the relocation will strengthen Kompolnas’s image as an external oversight body for Polri.
“Of course, with this new building, Kompolnas will become even more independent as a strategic partner for Polri to ensure that the Polri institution truly carries out its duties professionally,” he said.
Sigit stated that Polri is open to input, evaluations, and complaints from the public through Kompolnas. He guaranteed that every report will be followed up.
“We are open to continuously making improvements, so that what the public expects from the Polri institution, with the presence of this new Kompolnas building, we hope everything can become better,” he remarked.
“Colleagues from Kompolnas always provide suggestions and input, so that we can work better, more professionally, listen to public complaints, and respond to them promptly,” Sigit added.
