Jakarta (ANTARA) — PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has contributed to the construction of the Integrated Energy Infrastructure Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) Balikpapan, one of the National Strategic Projects playing a vital role in supporting Indonesia’s energy security. SIG supplied 115,609 tonnes of cement for the construction of Indonesia’s largest and most modern refinery, which was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, 12 January 2026.

Under construction since 2019, RDMP Balikpapan represents a major milestone in the development of integrated national energy infrastructure. The project encompasses crude oil reception systems, processing facilities, and support systems ensuring the reliability of the overall energy supply chain. RDMP itself is a project to develop and modernise existing refineries, thereby increasing oil processing capacity, producing high-quality and environmentally friendly fuels, driving downstream petrochemical industrialisation, and strengthening national energy security.

SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni said the company is proud to have contributed to building a sophisticated and integrated energy ecosystem in Indonesia by supplying Type V cement, namely DuPro+ HSR. SIG’s involvement in the RDMP construction also represents support for President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita agenda to promote national self-reliance through energy self-sufficiency, as well as to continue downstream processing and industrialisation to increase domestic added value.

In this project, SIG’s DuPro+ HSR cement was used for upgrading existing refinery units under the RDMP project. DuPro+ HSR is a cement with high sulphuric acid resistance and optimal chloride penetration resistance, as well as superior early and final compressive strength and long-lasting durability. This high-durability cement designed for extreme environments has also been applied in a number of projects, including the Karangkandri, Pacitan, Suralaya, Pelabuhan Ratu, Adipala Cilacap, and Indramayu coal-fired power plants, the Tenayan Riau gas-fired power plant, Kalibaru Port, and the Youtefa Bridge.

“SIG’s contribution to the RDMP project reflects stakeholders’ trust in SIG’s cement products, which have proven their quality and have been a mainstay across generations in the construction of strategic infrastructure and masterpieces of national pride. With an extensive network of production facilities and distribution channels, SIG is able to meet the needs of various construction projects even in remote areas, with reliable supply and consistently maintained product quality,” said Vita Mahreyni.
