The police are deploying a Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) team to investigate the fire at the Pullman Hotel on Jalan Letjen S Parman, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta. The forensic team has been mobilised to determine the exact cause of the blaze.

“For the time being, the cause of the fire is not yet known with certainty. The forensic team will be deployed to the location,” stated the Chief of Grogol Petamburan Police, AKP Reza Aditya, on Saturday (1/8/2026).

According to Reza, the Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) team from the West Jakarta Metro Police has already arrived at the scene for an initial inspection. “The district police Inafis team is already on-site. Subsequently, the forensic team will also arrive. Further information will be provided in due course,” added Reza.

The fire broke out at the Pullman Hotel in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, on Saturday morning. West Jakarta Fire and Rescue official, Syaiful Kahfi, confirmed that personnel were dispatched immediately after receiving the report at 07:59 WIB.

“Officers were dispatched just one minute after the report was received,” said Syaiful. A total of 14 fire engines and 70 personnel were deployed to the scene to combat the flames. The firefighting operation, which began intensively at 08:05 WIB, successfully localised the fire within a short period.

“The situation at the fire site is now under control, and officers have been conducting cooling processes since 08:15 WIB to ensure no remaining hotspots could trigger a secondary fire,” said Syaiful. The fire at the Pullman Hotel was extinguished shortly thereafter, with preliminary suspicions pointing towards an electrical fault.
