Inactive Pati Regent Sudewo Faces First Trial, Charged with Accepting Bribes and Gratification Totalling IDR 3.8 Billion

Inactive Pati Regent Sudewo underwent the first reading of his indictment at the Semarang Corruption Court in Central Java on Monday (15/6/2026). KPK Public Prosecutors charged Sudewo with accepting bribes and gratification related to the implementation of several projects at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation, totalling IDR 3.8 billion, while he served as a member of Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2021-2023 period. He was also charged with alleged extortion in the selection of village officials in Pati Regency for the 2025-2026 period, valued at IDR 2.6 billion, during his tenure as Pati Regent.
