INACA Promotes Urban Air Mobility and eVTOL Development at Advanced Air Mobility Shanghai
Jakarta, VIVA – Denon Prawiraatmadja, Chairman General of the Indonesian National Air Carriers Association (INACA), attended and spoke at the international Advanced Air Mobility forum in Shanghai, China on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.
In a seminar entitled “APAC & Middle East Market Access & Globalization Practices”, Denon presented Indonesia’s perspective on the development of Urban Air Mobility (UAM), electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, and the future of the low-altitude economy.
The founder and CEO of Whitesky Group also delivered a presentation entitled “Fostering eVTOL Strategies Towards the Implementation Phase”, which discussed strategies for moving eVTOL from the exploration and demonstration stage towards implementation that is safe, measurable, commercially viable, and scalable more widely.
“Indonesia must not merely be a spectator or end market in the global development of eVTOL. We must take part in building the operating systems, infrastructure, financing, and regulation so that this technology can answer the real needs of an archipelagic nation,” Denon said in a statement on Thursday, 23 July 2026.
Denon stressed that the future of Advanced Air Mobility is determined not only by the sophistication of aircraft technology. According to him, infrastructure readiness, operational experience, regulatory frameworks, financing mechanisms, and cross-sector collaboration are essential foundations for bringing eVTOL to the implementation and commercial operation stage.
This view is grounded in Denon’s involvement in various aspects of Indonesia’s mobility ecosystem. As Chairman of INACA, he brings the perspective of the aviation industry, particularly on safety, certification, operator readiness, maintenance, and the application of international standards.
As founder and CEO of Whitesky Group, Denon shares the company’s practical experience in helicopter operations, commercial heliport development, and the provision of air mobility services across various sectors.
Meanwhile, his roles as Advisory Board member of ITS Indonesia (Intelligent Transport System) and Head of Infrastructure at APINDO further strengthen his perspective, particularly regarding transport integration, infrastructure development, business readiness, and collaboration between government and the private sector in shaping the future air mobility ecosystem.
“UAM is not only about aircraft that can take off and land vertically. The greater challenge is building an ecosystem that is safe, integrated, commercially viable, and delivers direct benefits to society and the business sector,” said Denon.
