In Welcoming Eid al-Fitr, PLN Group Distributes Aid to Orphans, Students, and Needy Residents in Banggai
In welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, PLN Group has distributed aid to orphans, religious teachers, mosque caretakers, the underprivileged, and students in Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi.
This initiative represents a commitment to providing assistance and sharing blessings with those in need. The distribution of aid is part of the PLN Group’s Ramadan Safari activities on Friday, 13 March 2026.
Banggai Regent Amirudin Tamoreka appreciated PLN’s tangible contributions, which he said not only ensure reliable electricity but also demonstrate social care for the community.
He prayed for PLN’s continued success, stating that if this state-owned enterprise thrives, the benefits will directly return to the public, as felt today.
“PLN has also coordinated with us and assured that, God willing, electricity supply will remain stable until Eid. This is a crucial driver for the burgeoning industrial development in Banggai,” he said.
In agreement, DPD member Febriyanthi Hongkiriwang emphasised the importance of PLN’s role in maintaining reliable electricity supply during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, particularly to support community comfort in worship and daily activities.
“Let us include prayers for the electricity warriors, from leadership to field officers. It is thanks to their dedication that our lights stay on. We hope the presence of PLN’s Director of Power Plant Management in this region brings positive impacts for improving electricity quality in Central Sulawesi,” she stated.
PLN’s Director of Power Plant Management, Rizal Calvary Marimbo, affirmed that as a representation of the state, PLN not only focuses on electricity provision but is also committed to being present and sharing with the community.
“PLN does not only carry out electrical duties but also has social responsibilities to help those in need. In this month full of blessings, we hope the aid provided can alleviate burdens and serve as an expression of gratitude for the blessings of health and the opportunity to share,” Rizal explained in a statement on Thursday, 19 March 2026.
As a form of transparency and closeness to the community, the aid distribution was carried out symbolically to representatives of various groups.
Aid for orphans was channelled through Al-Ikhlas Orphanage, Aisyiyah Orphanage, and Al Falah Orphanage. Support for religious educators was given to Qur’an teachers from TPQ Rumah Qur’an, TPQ Baitul Izza, and Al Khaerat Islamic Boarding School.
Additionally, PLN distributed aid to mosque caretakers in appreciation of their dedication to maintaining places of worship. Assistance was also provided to underprivileged residents, concluding with aid to students at Al Khaerat Islamic Boarding School.
General Manager of PLN UID Suluttenggo, Usman Bangun, emphasised that this Ramadan Safari is part of the company’s social and environmental responsibilities, as well as an opportunity to ensure electricity infrastructure readiness ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
“Through this Ramadan Safari, PLN aims to ensure a real presence for the community, especially in Banggai Regency. Besides sharing aid, we are also ensuring all personnel are fully on standby to maintain reliable electricity supply during Eid al-Fitr, so the public can celebrate the day of victory with light and comfort,” Usman concluded.
