In Ramadhan Welcome, APPBI Jakarta Invites Public to Donate Blood
Jakarta — The Indonesian Shopping Centre Association (APPBI) Jakarta chapter has invited residents to participate in a blood donation drive to welcome the month of Ramadhan at the main atrium of @Bassura mall, located in Bassura City, Cipinang, East Jakarta.
“This activity marks the conclusion of a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) blood donation programmes for Ramadhan involving 30 shopping centres that are members of APPBI Jakarta,” said Mualim Wijoyo, chairman of APPBI Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Mualim stated that the programme represents the shopping centres’ commitment to the community, particularly in helping maintain adequate blood supplies, which are especially critical during the holy month of Ramadhan.
The initiative involves participation from mall visitors, employees, and members of the general public who voluntarily donate blood to help others.
Through this programme, APPBI is also presenting various engaging activities throughout Ramadhan, ranging from shopping promotions and family entertainment to social activities.
“We hope shopping centres will not only serve as shopping destinations but also create a warm Ramadhan atmosphere filled with togetherness and provide tangible benefits to the community,” Mualim said.
“Through the synergy between social activities such as blood donation and shopping programmes, we hope shopping centres will not only drive economic growth in the city but also serve as public spaces that deliver real benefits and foster a spirit of compassion amongst all Jakarta residents during this holy month,” he added.
APPBI Jakarta hopes that collaboration between shopping centres and the Jakarta Provincial Government through the Jakarta Festive Wonders Ramadhan 2026 programme will have a positive impact on the community, drive economic activity, and create a more vibrant atmosphere across Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Dimas Kusuma, head of cooperation, promotion, communication and publication at APPBI Jakarta, noted that residents can undergo free blood donation and health screening as part of APPBI Jakarta’s collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Jakarta and the Lions Club Indonesia district 307 B1.
“All segments of society and mall visitors can undergo free blood glucose testing and receive free eye examinations,” he said.
