Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) has once again become a battleground for investors. This morning, Thursday (4 June 2026), market capitalisation evaporated by approximately IDR 501 trillion within the first hour of trading.

Based on market data, market capitalisation on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) was recorded at IDR 9,954 trillion as of 10:00 WIB. This figure is down from yesterday’s closing position of IDR 10,455 trillion.

The decline in market value further widens the gap with the record high market capitalisation achieved in 2025. At that time, the market capitalisation of the Indonesian stock exchange briefly exceeded IDR 16,000 trillion.

In line with the decline in market capitalisation, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) also moved into negative territory this morning. The IHSG recorded a decline of 4.30% to 5,683.25.

Selling pressure occurred evenly across almost all stock sectors. A total of 654 shares weakened, 258 shares stagnated, and only 48 shares managed to strengthen.

Trading activity was quite high amid high market pressure. The frequency of transactions reached 606,900 with a trading volume of 8.77 billion shares and a transaction value of IDR 5.27 trillion.

At the start of trading, the IHSG actually opened lower at 5,919.57. However, continued selling pressure caused the index to fall further to 5,874.70, or a correction of 66.37 points, equivalent to 1.12%.

Throughout the morning session, the IHSG’s movement briefly touched a high of 5,924.51. Meanwhile, the lowest level reached by the index was at 5,873.00.
