In Line with the Police Chief's Directives, Kepulauan Seribu Police Resort Cleans Up and Sorts Waste
Head of the Kepulauan Seribu Police Resort (AKBP Argadija Putra) said the programme is a follow-up to the directive of the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri, regarding waste management and sorting within the police environment.
“Through this movement, we want to foster a culture of environmental care within the Polri environment. All personnel are expected to have awareness to maintain cleanliness and to habituate sorting waste according to its type,” said AKBP Argadija Putra on Saturday, 23 May 2026.
In addition, the programme is also in line with government policies on urban waste management and efforts to raise collective awareness about maintaining environmental cleanliness from the workplace. The Police Chief led a flag-raising ceremony and a korve (clean-up) in the courtyard of the Mako Perwakilan of Kepulauan Seribu Police.
The launch ceremony for waste sorting marked the start of the movement simultaneously across the ranks, from the Polda level, to the resort (polres), down to the police sectors (polsek).
After the ceremony, all personnel of the Kepulauan Seribu Police immediately carried out cleaning and environmental housekeeping actions in the mako area. The korve activity involved cleaning the surrounding area and sorting organic and inorganic waste as a concrete implementation of the environmental care movement.
Similar activities were also carried out simultaneously by the polsek units within the jurisdiction of the Kepulauan Seribu Police as part of the commitment to creating a clean, healthy and beautiful environment.
The Kepulauan Seribu Police also engaged various community elements and community organisations (ormas) from Jakarta and its surrounding areas. The collaboration was undertaken to strengthen synergy between the Polri and the community in addressing urban waste issues.
The Kepulauan Seribu Police invite all elements of society to jointly maintain environmental cleanliness and build a collective awareness of the importance of proper waste management to create a comfortable and healthy environment.
