In KPK Detention, Former Deputy Labour Minister Noel Leaves Food So His Wife and Child Can Share the Experience
Jakarta - The wife of former Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, Silvia Harefa, brought back several portions of food after visiting her husband at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Detention Centre on Saturday (21/3/2026). The food was packaged in white paper boxes. Silvia showed the contents of the boxes to the media. She said that Noel deliberately did not eat his meal portions so that Silvia could take them home. Silvia stated that this suggestion was not compulsory. She agreed and was asked to bring vegetables and ketupat. On this day, Silvia came accompanied by several other family members. They shared stories about each other’s family conditions with Noel. Noel also told Silvia about the conditions inside the detention centre. He informed her that former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas had not been in detention since Thursday (19/3/2026). According to information circulating among the detainees, Yaqut was taken out for further examination. However, even during the Muslim detainees’ Eid al-Fitr morning prayers today, Yaqut was not seen. “They were just wondering, they said there was an examination, but it’s unlikely to have an examination right before the night of takbiran. Up to today, he’s not there,” she explained. Kompas.com’s observation at the location after the Eid al-Fitr prayer also showed that Yaqut was not visible among the Muslim detainees as they prepared to return to the detention centre. Besides Silvia, several families of detainees from the official circles were also seen coming and going in the KPK Detention Centre’s visiting area.
