In Hambalang, Prabowo Calls Police Chief to Request Report on Police Transformation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto summoned National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to the President’s private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Friday.
The President requested a report on the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) strategic programmes, including those related to transformation within the police force.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday, explained that the one-on-one meeting between President Prabowo and the National Police Chief lasted approximately one hour.
“President Prabowo Subianto summoned National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to the Hambalang residence on Friday, 24 April 2026. The approximately one-hour meeting discussed several matters related to national security and the general national situation across various strategic sectors,” said the Cabinet Secretary Teddy.
In the same meeting, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit also reported to the President on several strategic police programmes, including strengthening digital transformation of public services, enhancing member professionalism from recruitment to service, and ongoing efforts to maintain public security and order involving all elements of society.
The National Police Chief also reported to the President on synergies between the police and various institutions to support national programmes, covering sectors such as agriculture, food, nutritious food, rapid disaster response, and improved services for the public.
From a photo uploaded by the Cabinet Secretariat in Jakarta on Friday, President Prabowo is seen reading the report submitted by the National Police Chief, after which the National Police Chief, seated directly opposite the President, provided a presentation and direct explanation of his report to the President.
In Hambalang today, besides the National Police Chief, President Prabowo also received a report from the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani.
The meeting between the President and Rosan was also one-on-one.
In his meeting with the President, Rosan reported on the progress of downstreaming programmes to be built in 13 locations across Indonesia.
Subsequently, the President directed that downstreaming must be expanded so as not to target only the energy and mineral sectors, but also the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
