In Front of Prabowo, Puan Reiterates DPR's Support for Government Programmes

President Prabowo and members of the Red White Cabinet attended today’s DPR plenary session. The plenary agenda was the delivery of the macroeconomic framework (KEM) and the main fiscal policy guidelines (PPKF) of the RAPBN (Budget Draft) for the 2027 fiscal year, presented directly by President Prabowo.

The 19th Plenary Session of the DPR RI in the 5th Session Year of the 2025-2026 Session was presided over by Puan at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026). During the plenary, Puan was accompanied by Deputy Speakers Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Saan Mustopa, and Sari Yuliati.

Before Prabowo delivered his speech on the KEM and PPKF for the 2027 RAPBN, Puan gave a brief introductory remark.

“The presence of the President in delivering the KEM PPKF for 2027 is an important and strategic moment to emphasise that the design of the 2027 State Budget is directed at delivering the greatest possible real benefits to all the people of Indonesia,” Puan said in a written statement on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.

Puan also stated that the DPR would conduct evaluation and collaboration in the discussion of the 2027 RAPBN.

“Of course, what has been prepared and planned by the Government at this time will be presented on June 4, and all factions in the DPR will express their views,” she explained.

“So that we can evaluate whether the programme can be implemented this year or next, allowing for good collaboration to achieve all the programmes we hope will best realise the welfare of the people,” added Puan.

Puan also stressed the importance of synergy between the DPR and the Government in the discussion of the 2027 RAPBN.

“And whatever we implement, I believe the synergy and coordination between the executive and the legislature, which has been running very well, will continue,” she said.

Puan then touched on the importance of cooperation between the DPR and the Government in drafting the 2027 RAPBN.

“As the President has always hoped, mutual cooperation and unity in building the nation and state are solely for the welfare of the people, and for the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation,” continued Puan.

After the delivery of the KEM PPKF for 2027, the DPR will undertake joint discussions with the Government. Puan said at this moment there will also be an evaluation of previous Government programmes so that going forward the programme achievements will be better.

“We hope that all programmes and achievements implemented in 2026 can be improved, evaluated, and the 2027 plans will of course be better and more well planned so that the programmes can be absorbed smoothly and effectively,” she said.

“And we in the DPR will continue to support all programmes planned by the Government, provided they are solely aimed at the welfare of all the people and the Indonesian nation, for a united Indonesia, for Merah Putih,” Puan declared.

According to the former Coordinating Minister for PMK, the contents of the KEM PPKF have always been the hope of all Indonesians. For, said Puan, the KEM PPKF is the design of the Budget for the people to feel the benefits of national development.

“Thus the people’s lives become easier and more prosperous, especially in the currently volatile global situation,” the Bung Karno’s granddaughter said.

On the other hand, Puan stated that Prabowo’s direct presence to present the KEM PPKF for 2027 was a special moment. It is noteworthy that direct presentation of the macroeconomic framework and fiscal policy by the President in a DPR plenary session is a first.

Usually, the KEM PPKF is read by the Minister of Finance on behalf of the President during a DPR plenary session. The President only recently appeared in person in the Annual Session of the MPR/DPR RI before the 17 August anniversary, after the DPR finished discussing the RAPBN with government representatives.

The President’s presence in delivering the KEM PPKF for 2027 is a crucial and strategic moment to emphasise that the design of the 2027 APBN is aimed at delivering the greatest possible real benefits to all Indonesian people,” Puan said.

Puan also expressed appreciation for Prabowo’s presence to directly present the Government’s macroeconomic framework and future economic policies.

“At the request of all DPR RI Members, we would like to thank the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” Puan said.

Puan also thanked the country’s leaders for attending today’s Plenary Session agenda.

“We would like to thank the leaders of the MPR, the Leaders and Members of the DPR RI and the DPD RI, the heads of state institutions, the ministers of the Red White Cabinet, the Leaders of National Financial Institutions, the Chairmen of Political Parties, and all attendees and guests for their willingness and enthusiasm in attending today’s Plenary Session,” Puan stated.

In addition to the delivery of the KEM and PPKF RAPBN for the 2027 fiscal year by the Government, today’s Plenary Session also has several other agendas.

The other plenary agenda includes the report of the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the DPR on the evaluation of the second amendments to the 2026 Priority Prolegnas Bill, followed by a decision.

Then the agenda of faction opinions on the revision of the Law No. 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police, initiated by Commission III, followed by a decision to become a DPR-originated Bill.

During today’s Plenary Session, a number of Ministers and leaders of the Red/White Cabinet institutions were also present, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, as well as the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Agus Subiyanto and the Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Representatives of the MPR RI and DPD RI were also present, including the Chair of BPK RI Isma Yatun, the Chief Justice Sunarto, the Chair of the KPK Setyo Budiyanto, and others.
