In Celebration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day, OKU Timur Police Distribute 1,606 Social Assistance Packages

The Chief of OKU Timur Police, AKBP Adik Listiyono, stated that this activity is a concrete form of the Indonesian National Police’s support for the national development agenda and efforts to maintain public order and security (kamtibmas). “We are ensuring that all ranks from the Regional Police to the Sector Police are present among the community to support government programmes. Synergy with all regional elements is the key to the success of this social programme,” said AKBP Adik on Monday (18/5/2026).

AKBP Adik Listiyono personally led the social action involving sub-district police units (Polsek) within his jurisdiction. On this day, the OKU Timur Police distributed an additional 50 social assistance packages, bringing the total to 1,606 packages distributed to the community since the programme’s inception. Each package contains essential commodities, including 5 kilograms of rice, 2 litres of cooking oil, 1 kg of sugar, 1 kg of wheat flour, instant noodles, and tea.

To ensure the aid reaches the intended recipients, police personnel conducted door-to-door visits across residential areas. Priority was given to vulnerable groups, specifically the elderly and underprivileged families. He added that this assistance programme aligns with the instructions of the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, in implementing ‘Polri Presisi’, which emphasises social care and a humanistic approach.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for the South Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Nandang Mu’min Wijaya, reaffirmed the commitment of the South Sumatra Police ranks to responding to community needs. “The distribution of social assistance in the OKU Timur area represents the presence of the state within the community. We appreciate all personnel working humanely and responsively, especially leading up to the 80th Bhayangkara Day,” stated Kombes Pol Nandang.

The series of social assistance distributions concluded at 1:00 PM WIB in a safe and conducive situation. The South Sumatra Regional Police ensured that similar humanitarian programmes will continue sustainably to create a harmonious and prosperous environment within the South Sumatra region.
