In Call with Abbas, Prabowo Reaffirms Indonesia's Support for Palestine

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a telephone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday, further underscoring Jakarta’s support for the Middle Eastern nation. “The two leaders discussed the latest developments in the Middle East region. President Abbas expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s consistent support for the Palestinian people,” said Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono on social media platform X. During the discussion, President Prabowo also reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to continue supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people. “And stressed that the two-state solution remains the only path towards sustainable peace in the region,” Sugiono stated. Indonesia’s support for Palestine is realised through consistent international diplomacy, emergency humanitarian aid such as the deployment of hospital ships and air logistics, as well as the provision of educational scholarships. This commitment is rooted in the constitution and the strong historical ties between the two countries. President Prabowo has also continued to voice this support firmly at various international and multilateral forums, including the United Nations, as well as in his discussions with numerous bilateral partners.
