In a Single Day, 5,781 Afghan Refugees Return to Their Homeland

Kabul (ANTARA) – A total of 1,077 refugee families, comprising 5,781 individuals, returned to Afghanistan on Tuesday, according to the official news agency, adding that of this number, 1,179 people have been dispatched to their provinces of origin. The remaining returnees will be sent to their provinces of origin after receiving the necessary assistance, including cash, SIM cards, medical aid, and food supplies, at border crossing points. According to several reports, more than 2.5 million Afghan refugees, the majority of whom originate from Pakistan and Iran, neighboring Afghanistan, have returned to their homeland since early 2025, after host countries urged refugees without official documents to return to their country.
