In 22 days, the Metro Jaya Regional Police uncovered 127 street-crime cases and arrested 173 suspects

During a press briefing at the Metro Jaya Regional Police in Jakarta on Friday, 22 May 2026, officers presented several suspects linked to street-crime cases, including theft with aggravating circumstances (curat), motor-vehicle theft (curanmor) and robbery with violence (curas). The Metro Jaya Regional Police, alongside its district police jurisdictions, disclosed 127 police reports related to street crime for the period from 1 May to 22 May 2026 and named 173 suspects. The announcements were led by Public Relations Head Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, with other officials present to outline the operations and results.
