PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has recorded high public mobility during the 2026 Lebaran transport period. Over 20 days, KAI has transported more than 4.9 million customers across various regions in Indonesia.

As of 30 March 2026 at 15:00 WIB, ticket bookings for the Lebaran transport period from 11 March to 1 April 2026 reached 4,923,309 tickets, an increase of 25.7% compared to the 2025 Lebaran transport realisation of 3,915,546 customers. This figure remains dynamic and will continue to grow until the end of the transport period on 1 April 2026.

“The difference between capacity growth and bookings shows the high interest of the public in rail services during Lebaran,” stated KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin.

Of the total bookings, long-distance train services recorded 4,130,168 customers, while local train services recorded 793,141 customers. Passenger movements occurred gradually from the start of the period and peaked during the return flow phase with more dispersed travel patterns.

For departures on 30 March 2026 up to 15:00 WIB, the number of long-distance train customers reached 168,111 and still has potential to increase until night time.

Amid this high mobility, KAI’s operational performance remains maintained. Throughout the 2026 Lebaran transport period, KAI operated 8,844 train trips with a departure punctuality rate of 99.80% and arrival punctuality of 98.86%.

Bobby stated that this achievement is the result of consistent planning and evaluation.

“What is visible is the customer travel experience. Behind it, there is a system that keeps working and personnel who ensure services run safely and on time. Every implementation becomes material for evaluation for future improvements,” said Bobby.

On the occasion at Pasar Senen Station on 30 March 2026, Bobby also expressed appreciation to all KAI personnel for their dedication during the Lebaran transport period.

This year’s Lebaran also drove activities in various regions. Public travel contributed to increased economic and tourism activities in destination cities.
