IMT, Satelindo, Jasa Marga tie up

JAKARTA: Indonesia Media Technologies (IMT), a provider of cellular telephones, in cooperation with state-owned toll road operator Jasa Marga and cellular operator Satelit Palapa Indonesia (Satelindo) are joining forces to disseminate toll road information via short-messaging-services (SMS).

Previously, similar toll road information could be obtained by typing a predetermined code and sending it via SMS to a specified number. The requested information is provided after a short interval via SMS.

Now, Satelindo users can simply access this information directly through Satelindo's Menu Browser. The browser is already part of pre-paid Mentari and Matrix Sim cards.

Coverage includes information on traffic congestion, accidents, road conditions, and road work obstructions on the Jagorawi, Tangerang, Cikampek, Cawang, Merak, and Pondok Pinang toll roads. This new service is in addition to information broadcast by Jasa Marga on a private radio station and by conventional telephone.

IMT provides mobile services to Telkomsel, Satelindo, Excelcomindo, and IM3. -- JP
