Imsak and Friday Prayer Times for South Jakarta Residents, 6 March 2026

Friday, 6 March 2026 marks the 16th day of Ramadan 1447 H in South Jakarta. Muslims in the area are urged to preserve their health and maintain focus while observing the fast. The official imsakiyah and prayer times issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) serve as the primary reference for residents to ensure prayers and fasting are observed on time. The government, through the Kementerian Agama, determined that the start of fasting Ramadan 1 Ramadan 1447 Hijri falls on Thursday, 19 February 2026. This decision was made after the Isbat session held at the Kemenag Office in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon, 17 February 2026, chaired by the Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar. This year the start of Ramadan did not occur simultaneously across groups, as Muhammadiyah began fasting on Wednesday, 18 February 2026. The difference does not invalidate worship, and all Muslims are urged to show mutual respect. The Isbat session involved various Islamic organisations, falak experts, and astronomical institutions, and was conducted using an integrated method of hisab and rukyatul hilal to maintain uniformity while respecting differences in the methods developed within the community.
