Improved rules for mixed marriages

We feel very sad about the problems couples of mixed marriages are facing in Indonesia. Therefore, we would like to appeal to the concerned authorities to reexamine the immigration laws and revise them, so that:

1. Children from Indonesian mothers will automatically be granted their mothers' citizenship, especially if they were born in this country.

2. Alien husbands will be allowed to reside permanently in Indonesia.

3. Yearly income tax for foreign spouses will be kept at a reasonable level. A foreign woman married to an Indonesian should actually not be taxed at all.

How can foreigners live and work peacefully if problems constantly assail them in Indonesia?

Their presence in this country is because of the ongoing globalization which, aside from increased investments, also promotes discipline, hard work and punctuality.
