Impoverished and oppressed

It is really saddening to think of the fate of Indonesia and
her future generations because the nation has been battered by a
spate of miseries: low economic growth, a high rate of
unemployment plus decreasing foreign investment.

Her natural resources both in the forests and in the sea have
been looted and plundered. Some state-owned companies are to be
sold to foreign investors. What will become of our country?
Impoverished and oppressed.

What have we been fighting for all these years? Is this all
what we expect from the reform movement? Is that what we are
proud of?

Some political elite are bragging about democracy and human
rights. (What they can do is only brag to make their name appear
in the print and electronic media). By so doing they can get
overseas funds. They are not ashamed of selling this country.
What unforgivable sins these people have committed! They say they
represent the people but in fact they have betrayed the nation.

Therefore let us unite to seek ways to free ourselves from the
multicrisis.
