Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The government has ensured that the need for imported goods for Eid al-Fitr celebrations this year will not be affected by the surge in global logistics costs triggered by the Middle East conflict. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto explained that most of the imported goods for Lebaran had already entered Indonesia before the escalation of the Iran-Israel-US war in late February. ‘Not yet, not yet. It’s stock that has already come in,’ Airlangga said when he was met at the Senayan City Mall, Jakarta, on Friday 6 March 2026. It is known that global logistics costs have recently risen after the conflict led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The strait is one of the main routes for distributing oil from the Gulf to various countries. The closure of this strategic route pushed up world oil prices. The rise in energy prices directly affected transportation and international logistics costs. Nevertheless, Airlangga stressed that the prices of imported goods entering the domestic market remain relatively stable for now. ‘Still safe,’ he concluded.
