Imported curtains still subject to safeguard duties at Rp 9,841 per kg

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has extended safeguard duties on imported curtains, bed valances, and other household items, with adjusted rates. The measure is outlined in Minister of Finance regulation (PMK) No. 36 of 2026, which amends the previous regulation under PMk 45/2023. The new regulation, effective from 22 May 2026 for two years, aims to provide domestic industries with additional time to undergo structural adjustments.

Article 2 specifies that safeguard duties apply to imports falling under HS codes 6303.12.00, 6303.19.90, 6303.91.00, 6303.92.00, 6303.99.00, 6304.19.90, 6304.91.90, and 6304.92.00. These duties are levied on top of standard customs duties or preferential rates under international agreements.

The safeguard duty rate has been adjusted to Rp 9,841 per kg for the first year (22 May 2026 to 21 May 2027) and Rp 9,248 per kg for the second year (22 May 2027 to 21 May 2028). Previously, under PMk 45/2023, the rates were Rp 22,717 per kg for the first year, Rp 16,595 for the second, and Rp 10,473 for the third.

The duties apply to all imports of these products from all countries, as stated in Article 5 of the regulation.
