Implicated in Jokowi's Diploma Case, Aiman Witjaksono Summoned by Police Today

The controversy surrounding the alleged fake diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo or Jokowi, continues to widen. Journalist Aiman Witjaksono is scheduled to undergo examination by investigators from the Subdirectorate for State Security (Kamneg) of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Regional Police on Thursday, 2 April 2026.

“The plan for today is that Aiman will be examined at Subdit Kamneg Ditreskrimum regarding the diploma case,” stated the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Budi Hermanto, on Thursday, 2 April 2026.

The examination is planned for the afternoon. Aiman is said to have confirmed his attendance to fulfil the summons as a witness in the case.

“Scheduled for 13:00 WIB, and the latest confirmation is that Aiman will attend as a witness,” he said.

Previously reported, the case of the alleged fake diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is still ongoing. This time, journalist Aiman Witjaksono has been implicated and is scheduled for examination by Metro Jaya Regional Police.

Aiman will be examined as a witness related to the television programme he hosted, which is suspected to be part of the evidence in the case.

The examination agenda was previously scheduled for Monday, 30 March 2026. However, Aiman claimed to be unavailable and requested a rescheduling.

“Yes, the summons was for Monday, but I asked to reschedule it to Thursday,” he told reporters, quoted on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.

He emphasised that the examination does not concern him personally, but rather the journalistic programme he presents.

“So this is, first, as a witness, and second, not related to me personally, but to the Rakyat Bersuara programme. Perhaps it’s about confirming whether there were indeed broadcasts used as one of the pieces of evidence by the complainant,” he said.
