The Jakarta Provincial Government has begun implementing a work-from-home (WFH) system for civil servants (ASN). The policy will apply every Friday.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that his administration will monitor ASN engaging in WFH. ASN will still need to conduct online attendance, managed by the Jakarta Provincial Personnel Agency (BKD).

“So first, attendance will still be carried out, even if mobile, because the DKI Jakarta government already has the instruments for that,” he said at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

Pramono said his side will impose sanctions on ASN who violate the rules. One such violation is if ASN do not work from home.

According to him, ASN on WFH must still work from home. Not from cafes or other places.

“Regarding working from cafes or anywhere else, if that happens, there will definitely be firm sanction actions for it,” he said.

He added that ASN on WFH are also not permitted to use private vehicles or individual transport. If they must travel, ASN are required to use public transport.

“Anyone who receives the work-from-home facility must not use individual transport facilities, whether motorbikes, cars, or the like. If they want to use transport because of their WFH status, they should be at home. If they want to travel, it must be public transport,” he said.
