Implementing WFH Every Friday, OJK Ensures Services Continue to Operate Normally
JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is implementing a work-from-home (WFH) policy every Friday to support the government’s energy efficiency programme. OJK Commissioner Council Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi stated that the policy is being carried out while still paying attention to the smoothness and quality of OJK’s task execution. “As one effort to support national energy efficiency and resilience amid global uncertainties, OJK has also established a work-from-home policy for OJK personnel, of course for one day, namely Friday,” she said during a press conference on the results of the OJK RDKB for April 2026, on Monday (6/4/2026). OJK’s service functions that require physical presence will continue to operate as usual. For example, services to consumers and the public to ensure that the needs of consumers and stakeholders are well served,” she explained. This policy will be evaluated periodically while still considering national policy developments. It is known that starting 1 April 2026, the government is implementing a WFH policy for civil servants (ASN) and the private sector, including State-Owned Enterprises and Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMN and BUMD). However, the WFH policy for ASN is mandatory on Fridays, except for service sections and jobs that require other physical presence. Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto previously explained that this policy is taken as part of adaptive steps to face global dynamics. The government is also encouraging changes in more efficient and digital-based work patterns. Digital-based government governance transformation is also being strengthened to improve public service efficiency. Airlangga assessed that this policy provides great potential for savings, including oil fuel consumption. “This entire policy is part of a structural transformation towards a more efficient, productive, and resilient economy,” said Airlangga during an online press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
