Implementing Sustainable Industry, Krakatau Posco Achieves Green PROPER Rating

Krakatau Posco has once again achieved the Green PROPER rating for three consecutive years. This accomplishment reflects the company’s environmental management performance, which is assessed as exceeding regulatory compliance.

Department Head of Environment at Krakatau Posco, Muhamad Naskuri, stated that this achievement is the result of the company’s internal consistency in maintaining environmental performance. “This Green PROPER achievement is a reflection of the company’s sustainable commitment to managing the environment responsibly,” said Naskuri.

He explained that the company promotes several initiatives such as energy efficiency, emission reduction, and waste management. These efforts are also accompanied by community empowerment programmes in the areas surrounding its operational regions.

“This success is proof that industry can operate in harmony with sustainability principles,” said Naskuri on Thursday (9/4/2026).

Naskuri added that the company will continue to enhance its environmental performance as part of its long-term operations. This step is taken to maintain business sustainability while minimising environmental impacts.

Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated that the beyond-compliance approach is a key factor in the Green PROPER assessment. “Through this rigorous evaluation process, the Green PROPER becomes an important indicator of a company’s commitment to practising sustainable business,” said Hanif.

He explained that environmental management practices exceeding regulatory standards can drive resource efficiency and prevent pollution. Additionally, this approach has the potential to create economic value for society.
