Implementing ESG: Plastic Reborn Programme Promotes Community-Based Waste Management
As an integrated healthcare solutions provider, PT Administrasi Medika (AdMedika) is expanding its scope of care beyond individual health to include the health of the environment in which communities live.
This commitment is realised through the ‘Plastic Reborn: Turning Waste Into Worth’ programme, conducted alongside Kitabisa.ORG in Bojong Village, Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.
AdMedika’s Corporate Communication Manager, Fortuna Febi Fajri, stated that sustainable waste management is a vital component in maintaining environmental quality and ecosystem sustainability. “Through the sorting, collection, and reuse of waste, these efforts can reduce the potential for soil and water pollution while extending the useful life of materials,” Febi said in a statement on Friday, 25 September 2026.
In the long term, these habits encourage more responsible resource use and provide benefits for environmental preservation and the planet for future generations. Consequently, AdMedika and Kitabisa.ORG have introduced the Plastic Reborn programme using a community-based waste management approach.
The scope of the programme includes waste sorting by residents in their own homes, weighing and exchanging waste for household necessities, and distributing the waste to management partners for recycling.
The programme targets approximately 50 heads of households in Bojong Village, providing waste management facilities and 550 units of household goods as items to be exchanged for the recyclable waste collected by residents.
“Maintaining public health also means maintaining the environment where we live. Through Plastic Reborn, we want to encourage the community to start building simple habits, namely sorting waste from home,” she said.
She emphasised that this step not only helps reduce plastic waste that has the potential to pollute soil and water but also allows valuable materials to be reused.
Febi expressed hope that the education and waste sorting practices implemented through this programme could become a lasting habit. “So that it provides a positive impact on environmental cleanliness and the sustainability of the earth for future generations,” she added.
The collaboration between AdMedika and Kitabisa.ORG through the Plastic Reborn programme serves as a tangible form of AdMedika’s commitment to delivering a sustainable positive impact on society and the environment.
