Academic and Professor at the Police Science College (STIK-PTIK), Albertus, has expressed appreciation for the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026, which he assesses as having been thoroughly planned. Albertus believes that the success of the operation is inseparable from the ability of the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) in mobilising various resources. He emphasises that the resources in question extend beyond budgets to encompass the quality of human resources and the utilisation of technology. “Our appreciation to Korlantas for successfully mobilising resources, not just budgets, but also personnel and technology,” stated Albertus, quoted on Sunday, 12 April 2026. As an academic with specialised studies in traffic, he views the primary strength of Operation Ketupat 2026 as lying in its planning aspect. According to him, the planning undertaken goes beyond mere procedural or behavioural-based (CB) approaches, instead employing a more scientific academic method. “The planning is not merely CB, but utilises academic tools, namely a predictive approach with scientific analysis. In the current era, technology greatly supports this,” he explained. Furthermore, he also highlighted the leadership factor of the National Police Traffic Corps Chief, Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho, in the on-the-ground execution. Albertus noted that the Chief’s role is crucial in coordinating various cross-sectoral parties, ensuring that traffic engineering runs optimally. “The leadership of Pak Kakorlantas has successfully organised various components such as transportation authorities and tourism, so everything proceeds in unison with good results,” he said. From an evaluation perspective, Albertus revealed that research conducted jointly with the Indonesian Police Science Doctoral Association shows a very high level of public acceptance of the applied policies. “Agreement with these policies reaches 93 percent. This means the majority of road users provide full support for the measures taken,” he disclosed. In his view, this achievement reflects effective good governance practices. Even the public response, which typically tends towards complaints, has shifted to appreciation for the implemented traffic policies. “Usually, the public complains, but this time the appreciation is high. Only around 7 percent disagree, and we will investigate that further,” he added.
