JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Irfan Yusuf (Gus Irfan), has revealed that the accommodation services in Mecca and Medina are ready to welcome Hajj pilgrims for 1447 Hijriah or 2026 AD. Not only accommodation services, but Gus Irfan also assured that all service aspects are prepared, including catering for Hajj pilgrims. “Accommodation in Mecca and Medina, catering services, transportation, and pilgrim supplies have all been prepared,” stated Gus Irfan at Masjid Ar Rahman in Blitar City, East Java, quoted from a press release on Friday (27/3/2026). Gus Irfan urged all pilgrims to maximise manasik as the primary provision to ensure the pilgrimage proceeds orderly, safely, and in accordance with Sharia. “Ladies and gentlemen are fortunate individuals. This manasik serves as an important provision so that worship can be carried out correctly, with discipline, and full of camaraderie,” he explained. For the 2026 Hajj organisation, the government is adopting the tagline ‘Hajj Friendly to the Elderly, Disabled, and Women’. “We ensure inclusive, safe, and comfortable services for all pilgrims, especially the elderly, people with disabilities, and women,” he emphasised. Additionally, the development of Hajj Village is being prepared as part of efforts to provide integrated pilgrim services. Gus Irfan stressed that President Prabowo Subianto established the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to deliver more focused and integrated Hajj services. Therefore, the Hajj Minister assures that the pilgrimage organisation aims to provide guidance, services, and protection so that pilgrims can perform worship in accordance with Sharia as mandated by Law Number 14 of 2025.
