Impersonating a Foreign Company Name, Satgas PASTI Halts Activities of CANTVR and YUDIA
Jakarta — The Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) has halted the activities of two entities, CANTVR and YUDIA, suspected of conducting investment fraud schemes and part-time job offers. Both entities are believed to have operated without a clear license and to pose risks of harm to the public.
In a statement yesterday from the Satgas PASTI Secretariat, Hudiyanto said that CANTVR is alleged to have misused the name of a licensed foreign company or impersonated Cantor Fitzgerald, a financial services firm with licences in the United States and Singapore. The investment activity offered by CANTVR is said to be related to Monexplora (MEX), as the offers come from that platform.
Clarifications indicate that CANTVR’s activities do not align with the business licenses issued by the Ministry of Investment and the Coordination of Investment/ BKPM. Additionally, the apps or websites used are not registered as an Electronic System Provider (PSE) with the Ministry of Communications and Digital.
Meanwhile, MEX is reported to have no legal entity in Indonesia, and the digital platform used is not yet registered as an official PSE.
Satgas PASTI disclosed that CANTVR allegedly offered stock investments via an app with a scheme involving depositing funds and promises of large profits based on membership tiers. Members are also said to receive allocations of fictitious IPO shares at random, which require additional payments.
Separately, YUDIA is alleged to operate a scam through part-time job offers involving watching Chinese drama films, purchasing film copyrights, and recruiting new members to earn bonuses and daily income.
Based on verification, YUDIA is found to lack a continued business license from the Ministry of Investment and Hilirisasi / BKPM. The apps and websites used are not recorded as PSE with the Ministry of Communications and Digital.
As a result, Satgas PASTI has halted all activities of CANTVR and YUDIA and will block access to the apps and related links. The Task Force will also coordinate with law enforcement to pursue the alleged violations.
Members of the public who feel harmed are urged to report to local law enforcement to expedite handling.
Satgas PASTI again reminds the public to be cautious of investment offers or financial activities that promise high returns in a short period, especially those using foreign company names without clear Indonesian licences.
