Impact of Train Accident in East Bekasi: 13 Long-Distance Train Services Cancelled Today
A train accident involving a long-distance train (KA) and the KRL Commuter Line occurred at East Bekasi Station in Bekasi City last night. As a result, 13 long-distance KA services have been cancelled today.
“Due to this incident, KAI is adjusting train schedules by prioritising safety and supporting the handling process at the site. On 28 April 2026, 13 long-distance train services have been cancelled,” stated PT KAI’s Instagram post, as seen on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

It is known that in the train accident incident, seven passengers died. Meanwhile, 81 people were reported to have sustained injuries.
“The number of casualties from last night: 7 dead and 81 injured being treated,” he stated.
Bobby said the evacuation took quite a long time. He mentioned that personnel had been evacuating for nearly eight hours.
“This evacuation, to be honest, took quite a long time, less than 8 hours, and we did it very carefully,” he said.
The Accident Incident
Based on video footage received by the editorial team, the atmosphere at East Bekasi Station appeared tense and was filled with passengers. Heroic actions were seen as fellow passengers helped each other evacuate victims on the platform area.
Some passengers appeared limp and seated on the platform in a state of shock after the hard impact occurred. Several people were also seen with head injuries and attempted to provide first aid independently.
The condition of the struck KRL trainset was still stuck on the side of the platform with doors open, but all lights inside the carriages were completely off.
In another video clip, severe damage to one of the KRL Commuter Line trainsets was visible, crumpled after being hit by the long-distance KA. Inside the pitch-black carriage, panic erupted as several passengers were still trapped inside.
Hysterical screams from passengers could be clearly heard in the darkness of the carriage, while others tried to find a way out amid the powerless train conditions.
