PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 6 Yogyakarta has rerouted several train services on Monday, 6 April 2026. This rerouting is a consequence of the KA Bangunkarta derailment in the Bumiayu area, Central Java.

Feni Novida Saragih, Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, expressed deep apologies to all affected passengers. To maintain the safety of train journeys and passengers, KAI is implementing operational pattern engineering. This also includes the cancellation of train services that could experience significant delays.

“One of the measures taken is the adjustment of operational patterns for several trains, including the KA Taksaka (47) on the Yogyakarta-Gambir route, now running Yogyakarta-Solo Balapan-Semarang Tawang-Cirebon. KAI Daop 6 assures that affected passengers will receive services in accordance with applicable regulations,” she stated in her release on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

She added that handling efforts at the derailment site of KA Bangunkarta are ongoing to restore the track and train operations to normal as soon as possible.

Here is the temporary update on train services in the Daop 6 Yogyakarta region:

  • KA Taksaka (47) departure at 14.45 WIB on the Yogyakarta-Gambir route has been rerouted via Yogyakarta-Solo Balapan-Semarang Tawang-Cirebon, departing at 15.25 WIB from Yogyakarta Station.

  • KA Manahan (62B) on the Gambir-Solobalapan route, departure at 10.30 WIB from Gambir Station, has been rerouted via Prupuk-Tegal-Semarang Tawang-Solo Balapan.

“KAI Daop 6 remains committed to prioritising safety, comfort, and premium service for all rail users, while actively coordinating operational recovery with relevant work units and operational regions,” she said.

KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta will periodically update information on train service conditions.

Previously reported, the KA Bangunkarta (161) on the Jombang-Pasarsenen route derailed in Bumiayu, Brebes Regency, Central Java, on Monday (6/4/2026) at 14.15 WIB at Km 312+1. The derailment has disrupted journeys on both upstream and downstream tracks, making the route impassable.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has implemented operational pattern engineering for train services. “KAI extends apologies to all customers for the journey disruptions caused by this incident,” said Anne Purba, Vice President of Corporate Communications for PT KAI (Persero) Daerah Operasi 5 Purwokerto, on Monday.
