Immigration Services in Labuan Bajo Conducted in Emergency Tents
Immigration services in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, are now being conducted in emergency tents due to ongoing aftershocks. The Class II Immigration Office of Labuan Bajo was affected by the powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake on 15 August.
“Taking into account the safety condition of the building and the potential for aftershocks, the Class II Immigration Office of Labuan Bajo has prepared an alternative temporary relocation of immigration services outside the office building using mobile units and service tents,” said Charles Christian Mathaus, Head of the Class II Immigration Office of Labuan Bajo, in a statement on Friday evening (21/8/2026).
“Immigration services outside the building will be carried out for the next two weeks. The implementation continues to prioritise safety, security, and comfort for both employees and the public receiving services,” Charles emphasised.
Eight immigration service applicants were served in the emergency tents on Friday (21/8/2026), consisting of two passport service applicants and six stay permit service applicants.
“Two passport service applicants through M-Paspor, with details of one new application and one replacement application, as well as six stay permit service applicants, consisting of two ITK (visit stay permits) and four VOA (visa on arrival),” Charles explained.
