Immigration searches for two foreign nationals after viral gym expulsion
The Denpasar Immigration Office in Bali is searching for two foreign nationals born in Israel holding Bulgarian and Romanian passports to question them regarding their expulsion from a fitness centre that went viral on social media.
“Both have been placed on the immigration wanted list (SOI) for monitoring and examination purposes,” said Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office R Haryo Sakti in Denpasar, Bali, on Friday.
The Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section team of the Denpasar Immigration Office has examined immigration data and visited one of the fitness centres in Sukawati, Gianyar Regency, Bali.
Officers are investigating information that went viral on social media regarding the expulsion of three foreign nationals suspected of being from Israel by the fitness centre owner on Wednesday (19/8) at around 7.00 pm local time.
Of the three foreign nationals, officers have identified the immigration data of two individuals, namely IB (23), born in Israel and holding a Bulgarian passport.
Based on immigration crossing data, IB entered Indonesia through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on 3 August 2026 using a Visa on Arrival.
The other foreign national has the initials YBH (22), also born in Israel and holding a Romanian passport.
YBH entered Indonesia through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on 3 August 2026 using a Visit Visa.
Immigration officers are also investigating information regarding the fitness centre owner who carried out the expulsion of the three foreign nationals.
The fitness centre owner and the two foreign nationals whose identities have been established will be questioned to obtain information regarding the chronology and background of the incident.
Haryo said his office cannot yet conclude whether or not immigration violations were committed by the two foreign nationals.
The determination of violations and immigration actions against the relevant parties will be made based on the results of the examination and the provisions of laws and regulations.
Denpasar Immigration invites members of the public who know the whereabouts or activities of foreigners suspected of violating immigration regulations in its working area to submit information through the official complaint channel.
