Immigration Officials Including West Java Regional Head Sworn In Amid Anti-Graft Reforms
Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, inaugurated two officials within the Directorate General of Immigration on Monday (22/06): Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Syahrioma Delavino, and Head of the West Jakarta Immigration Office, Rakha Sukma Purnama. The appointment of these two new officials is a step to strengthen immigration service governance, after the two officials who previously held these positions underwent legal proceedings at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Hendarsam stated that the inauguration is part of a concrete response to internal evaluations. “This inauguration is not merely a job rotation, but part of a reform effort. We are ensuring that the ongoing legal process becomes a momentum to strengthen organisational integrity and governance,” he explained.
Hendarsam emphasised that the Directorate General of Immigration is committed to making every dynamic a foundation for improvements that directly impact the quality of public services. In addition to strengthening leadership, the Directorate General of Immigration has also implemented a number of quick wins as a tangible response to the evaluations conducted. “One of the main steps is simplifying the business processes of immigration services, particularly in residence permit applications, to improve efficiency and convenience for the public and service users,” he clarified.
Furthermore, Hendarsam noted that various other efforts are continuously being carried out, such as strengthening internal supervision, accelerating follow-up on public complaints, increasing control over the execution of duties by field officers, and reinforcing the integrity of the apparatus. “We want to ensure that the public truly feels the change. Reforms must not stop at internal processes or ceremonies, but must be reflected in services that are increasingly fast, transparent, and accountable,” he said.
The inauguration also included a number of other officials, among them Heads of Regional Offices of the Directorate General of Immigration in various regions such as Banten, East Kalimantan, D.I. Yogyakarta, West Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, East Nusa Tenggara, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Bengkulu, Maluku, as well as the Head of the Central Immigration Detention House in Tanjung Pinang. Hendarsam stressed that the leadership transformation is a collective effort to build a work culture of integrity and professionalism across all ranks. “Public trust is the main thing we must safeguard. Therefore, every official inaugurated today bears a great responsibility to ensure immigration services run well, cleanly, and are oriented towards the public interest,” he remarked.
