The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation (OTT) in West Jakarta today. An immigration official was reportedly caught in the undercover operation.

“It is true,” stated KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto to CNNIndonesia.com via a written message on Wednesday (3/6).

The KPK leader, who has a background as a prosecutor, stated that the sting operation is related to the processing of permits for Foreign Nationals (WNA).

“It is certainly related to the management of foreign nationals,” he added.

Sources within the KPK told CNNIndonesia.com that the operation pertains to allegations of extortion regarding work permits for foreign nationals.

CNNIndonesia.com has contacted the Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, via written message to confirm the ongoing law enforcement process at the KPK. However, as of the time of publication, no response has been provided.
