Immigration Office Strengthens Foreigner Surveillance in Thousand Islands

The Tanjung Priok Class I Immigration Office is strengthening the surveillance of foreign nationals in the Thousand Islands Regency by promoting the Foreigner Reporting Application (APOA) to local authorities. Imam Setiawan, Head of the Tanjung Priok Class I Immigration Office, stated that the initiative aims to improve understanding of the obligation to report the presence of foreign nationals. This education is also being provided to owners or managers of accommodation who host foreign guests. According to him, the use of APOA is expected to make the reporting process faster, easier, and more accurate, thereby supporting the availability of valid data on foreign nationals for immigration supervision purposes. He noted that the local government welcomed the activity and is expected to play an active role in educating accommodation owners on the importance of reporting foreign nationals in accordance with applicable regulations. He added that synergy between the Immigration Office, regional government, and the community is a crucial factor in creating an effective and sustainable foreign national surveillance system. The Tanjung Priok Class I TPI Immigration Office affirmed its commitment to continuously strengthening immigration supervision within its working area and enhancing law enforcement synergy through cross-agency collaboration. “These efforts are expected to realise more optimal, accountable, and responsive supervision of foreign nationals in maintaining security and order within Indonesian territory,” he said.
