Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Tanjung Priok Class I Immigration Office is seeking to make residence permits and immigration status information more accessible to the public through the Immigration Encyclopedia (ImiPedia), a digital platform providing a central source of immigration knowledge and information.

“The website https://imipedia-priok.id was developed to make it easier for the public to obtain information about visas, residence permits, and various rules and technical terms relating to residence permits and immigration status,” Metaviani Restianawati, head of the Residence Permits and Immigration Status Section, said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

She said ImiPedia was designed to support the dissemination of information on residence permits and immigration status through digital technology. The platform allows the public, particularly foreign nationals, to access information organised into categories, making it easier to find material relevant to their needs.

“This initiative is also part of efforts to improve the quality of public information services, making them more accessible and responsive to technological developments,” she said.

ImiPedia provides several categories of immigration information, including temporary visit permits, temporary residence permits and permanent residence permits. It also covers changes in residence permit status, certificates for children with dual nationality, immigration facilities, immigration certificates and visas.

The platform also has a search function that enables users to find information by keyword, term, regulation or article. Restianawati said the information categories were intended to help the public and foreign nationals understand different aspects of immigration more practically and systematically.

“The platform can also support users in gaining an initial understanding of immigration requirements, procedures and rules before submitting an application suited to their needs,” she said.

She added that ImiPedia includes multilingual features to broaden access for foreign nationals, further development of visa information, and video tutorials to help users understand immigration procedures and rules more easily.

The Tanjung Priok Class I Immigration Office has encouraged the public to use the platform as a source of immigration information. With ongoing feature development and wider access to information, ImiPedia is expected to support modern, informative and transparent public services that are responsive to the needs of the public, particularly foreign nationals.

“We hope foreign nationals and the public will be able to access information on residence permits and immigration status more easily and in a more structured way, while improving their understanding of the rules in force,” she said.
