Immigration Holds Socialisation for International Events to Ensure Safe and Comfortable Services
This socialisation is organised in response to Indonesia’s significant market potential in hosting international music concerts, cultural arts festivals, and sports championships. Such activities are considered to have a multiplier effect on the local economy, from the hospitality sector, transportation, SMEs, to job absorption.
The socialisation was held at the Pullman Hotel in Jakarta, taking place from 29 April to 1 May 2026. Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko stated that his agency is committed to ensuring the smooth flow of international talents while prioritising security aspects.
“We want to ensure that every performer or athlete coming to Indonesia feels welcomed with easy and comfortable services, of course without neglecting oversight and national security aspects,” said Hendarsam in his statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
According to Hendarsam, synergy between the government and organisers is key to accelerating the national economy. He hopes this activity can build more effective communication so that immigration regulations do not hinder event organisation.
“Our hope is that harmony is created between the government and organisers, which will become the main driver of growth in our creative and sports sectors,” he added.
In this event, several technical leaders from Immigration were present as speakers, namely Director of Visas and Travel Documents Eko Budianto, Director of Immigration Stay Permits Is Edy Eko Putranto, Director of Immigration Checkpoints Suhendra, and Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement Yuldi Yusman.
Some policy points discussed in the socialisation included the optimisation of visa classifications for sports and cultural arts activities; procedures for athletes contracted by professional clubs; standardisation of inspection procedures for international delegations at Immigration Checkpoints (TPI); and preventive steps to ensure foreign nationals’ activities align with their visa purposes for legal certainty.
The Director General of Immigration hopes that through this socialisation, organisers will have a comprehensive understanding of the latest policies to create a more conducive business climate.
“The success of organising international events in Indonesia is a reflection of our readiness as an advanced, open nation capable of competing globally through hosting international standard events,” Hendarsam concluded.
