Immigration examines British national for intimidating residents in Denpasar
Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Denpasar Immigration Office in Bali is examining a foreign national (WNA) from the United Kingdom with the initials TD, who was reported by the public for allegedly intimidating residents in the Renon area of Denpasar. “We appreciate the active role of the public in reporting suspicious activities of foreign nationals,” said the Head of Denpasar Immigration, R Haryo Sakti, in Denpasar, Bali, on Friday. TD, a 49-year-old man, was apprehended at his residence on Jalan Tukad Unda, Panjer, Denpasar, by officers from the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Unit (Inteldakim) Denpasar. He had come to the attention of the public after a video of him intimidating residents went viral on social media. Officers from Inteldakim then tracked TD and arrested him at his home. Officers subsequently examined TD’s immigration documents, which included a Limited Stay Permit (Itas). However, the Itas had expired or was overstayed as it had not been renewed. When officers requested his statement, TD resisted and was uncooperative. He was then escorted to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further questioning, including the motive behind his intimidation of residents. “Officers are still investigating the motive behind the alleged intimidation reported by the public, as well as tracing the activities carried out by TD during his time in Indonesia,” he added. Meanwhile, Denpasar Immigration officers also apprehended four Nigerian foreign nationals during the Dharma Dewata Patrol on Friday. The four Nigerian WNAs are respectively initialled UMA, who entered via Soekarno-Hatta Airport on 13 April 2018, then KUO who entered via Soekarno-Hatta Airport on 5 February 2026, and JIE who entered Indonesia via Juanda Airport on 5 February 2025, all three using Investor Stay Permits. Furthermore, UGO who entered using a visit stay permit via Juanda Airport on 17 June 2025. All four are now being examined by Denpasar immigration for allegedly misusing their stay permits.
