Immigration Directorate General Provides Passport Services at CFD Events in Jakarta and Regions

Jakarta - The Directorate General (DG) of Immigration under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) has consistently provided passport services at Car Free Day (CFD) events not only in Jakarta but also in regions across Indonesia each week. Eko Budianto, Director of Visas and Travel Documents at the DG of Immigration, said in Jakarta on Sunday that the CFD passport services are being implemented in accordance with instructions from DG Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko, who wants it consistently carried out as part of the ‘Immigration for the People’ tagline. ‘DG Immigration has instructed us to consistently provide CFD services weekly, not only in Jakarta but also in regions across Indonesia that have CFD events,’ Eko said. In Jakarta, the CFD passport service has been conducted for the third time in May 2026, with the May 17 event at CFD Rasunan Said and the first week in North Jakarta with a quota of 30 applicants. The third week of services at Wisma KIEAI on Sudirman Street has a higher quota of 50 applicants. According to Eko, public interest in the CFD passport service is high, leading to an increase in applicant quota from 30 to 50. ‘Interest is high as many citizens inquire about Sunday services. However, as the event is limited to CFD, we are evaluating public demand for the service,’ he said. ‘Moving forward, it is possible to introduce further innovations to reach citizens on Sundays,’ he added. Eko noted that the DG of Immigration has instructed 155 immigration offices nationwide to develop service innovations to enhance public service. Besides Jakarta, other regions conducting CFD passport services include Depok, Surabaya, and Makassar. ‘Other regions are following suit, preparing their services. Due to limitations in service units like mobile immigration trucks not being available everywhere, they are offering services with simpler concepts,’ Eko said. CFD passport services are widely used for renewals and new applications, while replacements for damaged passports can only be done at immigration offices.
