Immigration Director General Appoints New West Java and West Jakarta Heads After KPK Sting
Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko inaugurated two new officials on Monday (22/6): Syahrioma Delavino as Head of the Regional Office for West Java and Rakha Sukma Purnama as Head of the Immigration Office for West Jakarta. The appointments follow the arrest of the previous office holders in a Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sting operation.
“This inauguration is not merely a rotation of positions, but part of a reform effort. We are ensuring that the legal process becomes momentum to strengthen integrity and organisational governance,” Hendarsam stated at his office in Jakarta.
He affirmed the directorate general’s commitment to using every dynamic as a foundation for improvements that directly impact the quality of public service. Beyond leadership changes, the Directorate General of Immigration has implemented several quick wins as a concrete response to evaluations, including simplifying business processes for immigration services, particularly for residence permit applications, to enhance efficiency and ease for the public.
Other ongoing measures include strengthening internal supervision, accelerating follow-up on public complaints, increasing control over field task execution, and reinforcing the integrity of personnel. “We want to ensure the public truly feels the change. Reform must not stop at internal processes or ceremonies, but must be reflected in services that are faster, more transparent, and accountable,” he added.
The ceremony also included the appointment of several other officials, such as the heads of regional offices for Banten, East Kalimantan, DI Yogyakarta, West Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, East Nusa Tenggara, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Bengkulu, and Maluku, as well as the Head of the Central Immigration Detention Centre in Tanjung Pinang. Hendarsam stressed that the leadership transformation is a collective effort to build a work culture of integrity and professionalism across all levels. “Public trust is paramount. Therefore, every official inaugurated today bears a great responsibility to ensure immigration services are conducted properly, cleanly, and oriented towards the public interest,” he said.
