Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) of the Non-TPI Class II Immigration Office in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has detained an Australian national. The woman identified as SBH (26) is suspected of entering and residing without a passport. SBH has worked as a surfing coach in the Lakey Beach area, Hu’u District, Dompu Regency.

Head of the Enforcement Subdivision of the Bima Immigration Office, Ida Bagus Satriya Bimantara, said the detention of SBH was a follow-up to a patrol by the Inteldakim team. ‘SBH was detained while in a lodging area near Lakey Hu’u, Dompu Regency,’ he told detikBali, on Friday, 5 March 2026.

After detention on Tuesday (3/3/2026), the Inteldakim team immediately carried out clarifications and examinations of SBH at her lodging in Lakey Dompu. Based on the initial clarifications, SBH entered Lakey Dompu to provide surfing coaching services promoted via Instagram.

‘TSBH uses a Visit Stay Permit (ITK) Pre-Investment Multiple Entry, which is not intended for activities of work or providing services,’ he said.

Meanwhile, in the initial examination, Satriya Bimantara continued, SBH also could not show travel documents in the presence of the Inteldakim team. SBH claimed her travel documents were in Bali. ‘SBH travelled from Bali to Bima and Dompu by motorcycle,’ he stated.

From the clarifications and initial examinations, SBH is suspected of violating Article 122 letter a of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration relating to misusing residence permits. In addition, she is suspected of violating Article 116 in conjunction with Article 71 of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration relating to foreigners’ obligation to show and surrender travel documents or residence permits held if requested by officers.

‘Through immigration provisions, every foreign national in Indonesia must be able to show valid travel documents and residence permits upon request,’ he explained.

After detention, SBH was immediately taken to the Non-TPI Class II Bima Immigration Office for further processing. She is currently undergoing examination in the form of an Investigative Report (Berita Acara Pemeriksaan - BAP).

‘While awaiting SBH to show her immigration travel documents, officers will undertake detention measures in accordance with applicable regulations,’ he said.

He urged all foreign nationals within the jurisdiction of the Non-TPI Class II Bima Immigration Office to always comply with residence permit provisions appropriate to their purpose and to be able to show travel documents whenever required by officers.

‘Monitoring the presence and activities of Foreigners in Bima and Dompu will continue to be conducted in a humane yet firm manner in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations,’ he added.
