Immigration Blacklists Two Dutch Nationals for Organising Discriminatory Running Event in Bali
The Directorate General of Immigration has taken action against two foreign nationals from the Netherlands suspected of organising the Bali Silent Disco running event. The event allegedly violated immigration regulations and was rife with discrimination against local residents.
“The running event was a form of a state within a state. Currently, the foreign nationals in question are known to be outside Indonesian territory and Immigration has imposed a blacklisting on them. I have ordered the Bali Immigration unit to examine the event organiser; if there are any foreign nationals, arrest them immediately,” said Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, on Friday (24/7/2026).
The two foreign nationals have the initials JAS (35), a holder of a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) for work, and HQV (37), an ITAS holder as an investor. Both are known to be the organisers of the event held by Entourage Bali.
Immigration officials stated that the two foreign nationals left Indonesian territory on Thursday evening (23/7/2026). Both flew on a KLM flight bound for Singapore via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.
“The two foreign nationals are known to have left Indonesian territory on Wednesday evening, 23 July 2026, on a KLM flight to Singapore via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. Currently, we have placed both of them on the blacklist,” he explained.
As a follow-up, the Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office has summoned the guarantor or sponsor of the two foreign nationals, PT SIG. The sponsor is being questioned regarding the activities of the two foreign nationals while in Indonesia, including their compliance with the granted stay permits. If violations are found, they will be processed accordingly.
Hendarsam explained that foreign nationals are not permitted to organise or arrange events in Indonesia as event organisers. According to him, foreigners are only allowed to be part of the official crew or team in events involving international performers or artistes.
He added that all activities involving foreign nationals must comply with the rules. Immigration will not tolerate violations of public order and law in Indonesia, and foreign nationals must not act as if they can create their own rules and exclusivity within Indonesian jurisdiction.
“All legal protection and services we provide are rooted in the principle of Immigration for the People, which means the state’s presence through the immigration function must always guarantee justice, public order, and the comfort of the domestic community from any form of unlawful acts by foreign nationals,” Hendarsam concluded.
